Halloween is normally reserved for ghosts, goblins, and scary characters but earlier in the day a friendly visitor stopped by. Senator Katie Muth swung by our EMS Division meeting with leadership and the on duty staff and get a tour of the recently purchased Chevrolet Tahoe outfitted for Mental Health transports. This vehicle was purchased with funding facilitated by Sen. Muth's office to continue supporting improvements in transporting patients to facilities for ongoing care. Many times the greatest delays in continuing mental health care is securing transport from an Emergency Department to the receiving facility. This SUV outfitted with a safety partition and other safety features allows for safe transport without utilizing a traditional ambulance thus making it more cost effective and safer for both the patient and EMS providers.
