On Monday night at the regular monthly membership meeting, Vice President Kevin Kerwin presented President George Gilliano with his Life Membership to the Department.

In addition to his role as President of the Department he also serves as the Director & Chief of EMS Operations for Friendship Ambulance. Director Gilliano's guidance has resulted in increased services including the additional of 911 emergency coverage area and supplemental services to the Royersford community and surrounding municipalities. Since taking the helm in 2014 Director Gilliano has been instrumental in the acquisition of additional emergency coverage area in Montgomery County including establishing an ambulance based in Upper Providence Township. More Friendship units are staffed day-to-day than ever before including "float" units to fill in gaps within the coverage area during surge periods and the addition of non-emergent services to offset the gap in funding from insurance reimbursements which also can respond to emergencies when needed.

Congratulations Director Gilliano! Thank you for your continued contributions to the betterment of the Department and the Spring-Ford community! Below is a full transcript of the proclamation awarded to Director Gilliano:

WHEREAS: President George Gilliano is a member of the Royersford Fire Department and has been a member of the Royersford Fire Department since February the 6th, 2007; and

WHEREAS: President George Gilliano has been instrumental in the development of the EMS Division into a thriving and expanding enterprise. Since taking on the role of EMS Chief in 2014, George has bravely led the EMS division in acquisition of life saving equipment, expansion of EMS service area, securing of contracts with multiple municipalities, and has aided the development of numerous Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics; and

WHEREAS: President George Gilliano's actions and dedication are indicative of his character, work ethic, and resilience as the President and EMS Chief of the Royersford Fire Department; now therefore be it

RESOLVED: That I, Kevin G. Kerwin, Vice President of the Royersford Fire Department in accordance with the Royersford Fire Department By-Laws Article V Section 1 Life Membership, as well as the unanimous will of the Board of Directors, hereby bestow the Honor Of Life Membership to President George Gilliano.
