This morning as the rush was ramping up the department was dispatched for an auto accident on the eastbound side of Route 422 between the Trappe Road underpass and the Collegeville exit. Also dispatched to assist was Black Rock Volunteer Fire Company (Station 99) & Trappe Fire Company EMS (Medic 324). EMS from Friendship arrived and made contact with each of the involved parties and determined there was only one injury. Rescue 98 arrived parking in a "blocking position" in the left lane and quickly handled debris and hazards in the roadway. The injured party was taken to a local hospital for evaluation with the remaining units clearing the highway just before 7am. Also assisting onscene was Pennsylvania State Police and PennDOT Safety Patrol.
