Thursday morning RFD was alerted to assist Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company on a residential fire with a hazardous materials component. Firefighters encountered thick dangerous smoke requiring a response from the Chester County Hazardous Materials team.

Rescue 98 was requested to this incident in Schuylkill Township for an "air bank assist." Rescue 98 has an onboard air cascade system which facilitates empty air cylinders used by responders to be refilled onscene allowing them to be placed back into service quickly.
