This weekend RFD joined family, friends, and fellow responders as Past Humane Fire Company President A. Elwood "Bud" Place was laid to rest. Joining the Humane Fire Company in the early 60's as a member of the Fire Police for the company. In the mid 60's, Bud was elected to the Office of President of the Humane Fire Company where he held this position until the late 80's at which time he retired from the fire service. After his retirement Bud always would stop by during events and catch up with the happenings of the Department.
