Monday night crews went to the old Nelson's property on Main Street to continue practicing Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) techniques. A rapid intervention team is used on a fireground strictly for firefighter rescue. The RIT normally stands by at an incident in case of an injured or trapped firefighter.
This week's training worked on taking downed firefighter up and down stairs as well as large area search and removal. They used various drag techniques as well as worked on relaying clear and concise Conditions, Actions, Needs (CAN) reports.
