Last evening two providers from Royersford Fire Department received their graduation diploma after completing the paramedic program at Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute in West Chester. Newly certified Paramedics Hannah Overholtzer & Jacob Neveil completed the year-long program which entails hundreds of hours of classroom time along with field training in both the pre-hospital ambulance setting, regional Emergency Departments, and other specialty units throughout local hospitals.
Prior to the graduation ceremony both of these providers have successfully tested and met all requirements for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), the certifying body for EMS providers in Pennsylvania, to receive their paramedic certification and begin providing care at the Advanced Life Support (ALS) level. New paramedics with Friendship Ambulance work alongside veteran ALS providers honing their assessments, skills, and developing their own workflow.
Congratulations to RFD's newest Paramedics and the rest of the graduating class!
